This Week in Congress

 

Senate: The Senate confirmed Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services, and Brooke Rollins as Secretary of Agriculture.

 

House: The House passed the Midnight Rules Relief Act (H.R.77) and the Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act (H.R.35).


Trump Administration: President Trump continued to sign Executive Orders including Implementing the President’s “Department of Government Efficiency” Workforce Optimization Initiative, Reciprocal Trade and Tariffs, Adjusting Imports of Aluminum into the United States, Adjusting Imports of Steel into the United States, and Establishing the President’s Make America Healthy Again Commission.

 

Next Week in Congress

 

Senate: The Senate will reconvene on Tuesday, February 18 and is expected to continue processing nominations including Howard Lutnick as Secretary of Commerce, Kelly Loeffler as Administrator of the Small Business Administration, and Kash Patel as Director of the FBI. They could possibly consider the FY25 Budget Resolution.
