This Week In Washington 

  • Senate – The Senate confirmed several nominations and failed to get the 60 votes necessary to proceed with the Border Act of 2024 (S. 4361).
  • House – The House passed the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act (H.R. 4763), the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act (H.R. 5403), and H.R. 192, “to prohibit individuals who are not citizens of the United States from voting in elections in the District of Columbia.”
  • Biden Administration – On May 22, the White House announced that the Biden administration would release one million barrels of gasoline from the Northeast Gasoline Supply Reserve in an effort to lower gas and energy costs.

Next Week In Washington 

  • Senate – The Senate will reconvene on Monday, June 3, is expected to continue processing nominees, and may consider the Right to Contraception Act (S. 4381).
  • House The House will reconvene on Monday, June 3, and may consider a Fiscal Year 2025 appropriations bill l for Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies.
