This Week in Congress

  • Senate –The Senate confirmed several nominations and Leader Schumer filed cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R.815, the legislative vehicle for a continuing resolution. 
  • House – The House pulled the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD) Appropriations Act (H.R. 4820) and the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act (H.R. 4664) from the floor and passed H.R. 1607, to clarify jurisdiction with respect to certain Bureau of Reclamation pumped storage development, and for other purposes. 
  • Biden Administration – The White House announced$16.4 billion in new funding for 25 passenger rail projects on Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor.  

Next Week in Congress

  • Senate – The Senate will reconvene on Monday, November 13, and may resume consideration of nominees and may hold a cloture vote on H.R.815. 
  • House – The House will reconvene on Monday, November 13, and may consider H.R. 4820 and H.R. 4664 and may begin consideration of the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2023 (H.R. 5894) and/or the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2024 (H.R. 5893).
