The Senate passed S.J. Res. 11 by a vote of 50-49, a Congressional Review Act measure to rescind the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s rule, “Control of Air Pollution From New Motor Vehicles: Heavy-Duty Engine and Vehicle Standards.” The Senate also confirmed nominations.

  • Senate – The Senate passed S.J. Res. 11 by a vote of 50-49, a Congressional Review Act measure to rescind the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s rule, “Control of Air Pollution From New Motor Vehicles: Heavy-Duty Engine and Vehicle Standards.” The Senate also confirmed nominations.
  • House –The House passed the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023 (H.R. 2811) by a vote of 217 – 215, and H.J. Res 39, a Congressional Review Act measure to rescind the two-year pause on antidumping duties on solar panels, by a vote of 221-202, short of the two-thirds threshold needed to override an expected veto by President Biden. 

Next Week in Congress

  • Senate – The Senate will reconvene at 3:00 PM on Monday, May 1 and will resume consideration of judicial nominations.
  • House – The House is in recess and will reconvene on Tuesday, May 9.
