The Senate voted to confirm the nomination of Radha Iyengar Plumb, of New York, to be a Deputy Under Secretary of Defense, and Amy Lefkowitz Solomon, of the District of Columbia, to be an Assistant Attorney General.

  • Senate – The Senate voted to confirm the nomination of Radha Iyengar Plumb, of New York, to be a Deputy Under Secretary of Defense, and Amy Lefkowitz Solomon, of the District of Columbia, to be an Assistant Attorney General.
  • House – The House passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act (H.R. 734), the Countering Untrusted Telecommunications Abroad Act (H.R. 1149), and the Upholding Sovereignty of Airspace Act (H.R. 1151).

Next Week in Congress

  • Senate – The Senate is scheduled to convene on Tuesday, April 25, and will resume the consideration of the nomination of Joshua David Jacobs to be the Under Secretary for Benefits of the Department of Veterans Affairs. 
  • House – The House is scheduled to reconvene Tuesday, April 25, and may consider the Republicans’ debt limit and spending cuts legislation, the  “Limit, Save, and Grow Act of 2023.” Other possible legislative items have not yet been announced.
