On Thursday, the Senate passed a continuing resolution (CR) (H.R. 1437) to extend current government funding levels through next Friday, December 23. This week, the Senate also passed the NDAA (H.R. 7776) and confirmed judicial nominations.

  • Senate – On Thursday, the Senate passed a continuing resolution (CR) (H.R. 1437) to extend current government funding levels through next Friday, December 23. This week, the Senate also passed the NDAA (H.R. 7776) and confirmed judicial nominations.
  • House – On Wednesday, the House passed the continuing resolution (CR) (H.R. 1437), maintaining current government funding levels through December 23.

Next Week in Congress

  • Senate – The Senate will reconvene at 3:00 pm on Monday, December 19 and is expected to take up an omnibus appropriations bill to fund the federal government for FY 2023 sometime next week. The Senate is also scheduled to resume consideration of nominations.
  • House – The House will reconvene on Wednesday, December 21, with first votes of the week postponed until 6:30 p.m. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) announced this week that the House is also expected to meet on Thursday, December 22 and will remain in session until the omnibus appropriations bill for FY 2023 is completed.
