The SENATE

On Monday, cloture was filed on the motion to proceed to H.R. 8404, the Respect for Marriage Act.

At a time to be determined, the Senate will begin consideration of S.J. Res. 63, a Joint Resolution terminating the COVID-19 national emergency declared on March 13, 2020, for up to 30 minutes of debate, equally divided.  Upon the use or yielding back of time, the Senate will VOTE on passage.

On Tuesday, October 11, the Senate began consideration of H.R. 7900, the National Defense Authorization bill.  Reed/Inhofe substitute amendment #5499, as modified, and Reed amendment #6442 (effective date) were offered.
