This Week’s Update

The Senate passed the Solid Start Act (S. 1198), the IMPROVE Act (S. 4899), Reauthorization of the SBIR and STTR programs and pilot programs (S. 4900), the SPEED Recovery Act (H.R. 5641), Extension of Department of Homeland Security Other Transaction Authority Act (S. 4553), the Extension of Authority to Acquire Innovative Commercial Items Act (S. 4552), and Kevin and Avonte’s Law Reauthorization (S. 4885). The Senate also confirmed judicial nominations.

This Week in Congress

  • House – The House passed the Break the Cycle of Violence Act (H.R. 4118), the Mental Health Justice Act of 2022 (H.R. 8542), the Invest to Protect Act (H.R. 6448),  the Presidential Election Reform Act (H.R. 8873), and the Joint Consolidation Loan Separation Act (S. 1098).

Next Week in Congress

  • Senate – The Senate will reconvene on Tuesday to resume consideration of the motion to proceed to H.R.6833, the legislative vehicle for the continuing resolution (CR). The Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed at 5:30 pm on Tuesday.
  • House – The House will return on Wednesday at noon for legislative business with votes postponed until 6:30 pm. The House will vote this week on the CR and may also consider the Mental Health Matters Act (H.R. 7780), the Merger Filing Fee Modernization Act of 2021 (H.R. 3843), the PAVA Program Inclusion Act (S. 3969), and legislation to restrict stock trading by officials in the legislative and executive branches.
