Next Week in Congress

  • Senate – The Senate is scheduled to reconvene on April 25. The Senate may consider a supplemental appropriations package to support the COVID-19 response. The Senate will continue its consideration of pending nominees, which may include Jerome Powell to be Federal Reserve Chairman, Lael Brainard to be Federal Reserve Vice Chair, Lisa Cook and Phillip Jefferson to be Members of the Federal Reserve Board, and Alvaro Bedoya to be a Member of the Federal Trade Commission.
  • House – The House is scheduled to reconvene on April 26. The House may consider the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act (H.R. 350), the Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act (H.R. 6753), an additional supplemental appropriations bill to support Ukraine, and the Courthouse Ethics and Transparency Act (S. 3059).
