This Week in Congress

  • House – The House passed the Forced Arbitration Injustice Repeal Act (H.R. 963), the Suspending Normal Trade Relations with Russia and Belarus Act (H.R. 7108), and the Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair Act (H.R. 2116).
  • Senate – The Senate confirmed Shalanda Young to serve as Director of the Office of Management and Budget. The Senate passed legislation to make daylight savings time permanent (S. 623) and a resolution to end the CDC’s mask mandate on public transportation (S.J. Res. 37).

Next Week in Congress

  • House – The House is scheduled to be in recess and meet in pro forma session.
  • Senate – The Senate may consider legislation to suspend normal trade relations with Russia and Belarus. The Senate is expected to begin proceedings to move to a conference committee to reconcile the America COMPETES Act (H.R. 4521) and the U.S. Innovation and Competition Act (S. 1260). The Senate will continue its consideration of pending judicial, ambassadorial, and federal agency nominees. The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to hold hearings on the nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.
