Senate Judiciary Committee Approves Major Antitrust Legislation: What to Expect from Washington on Competition Law Reform

On January 20, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved an antitrust bill (S. 2992) aimed at Big Tech, which brings the legislation one step closer to becoming law. The bill, the American Innovation and Choice Online Act, would prevent technology companies from giving preference to their own products and services. While the passage of this legislation is currently not guaranteed, this measure adds to the continued effort by the administration and lawmakers to provide significant reform to antitrust laws.
