This Week’s Update

The Senate continued its consideration of the U.S. Innovation and Competition Act, a package of bills focused on China, including the Endless Frontier Act (S. 1260) and the Strategic Competition Act (S. 1169). The Senate failed to adopt a motion to proceed to the National Commission to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol Complex Act (H.R. 3233). The Senate confirmed the nominations of Kristen Clarke to be Assistant Attorney General, Chiquita Brooks-LaSure to be Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Christine Wormuth to be Secretary of the Army, and Eric Lander to be Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy.
