  • House – The House was in recess and met in pro forma session

Next Week in Congress

  • Senate – The Senate will reconvene and continue its consideration of judicial nominations. The Senate Judiciary Committee will vote on the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett on October 22, and the full Senate is expected to vote on the nomination by the end of the month. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) indicated that he will move to the nomination of Judge Barrett on the Senate floor as soon as her nomination is reported out of the Judiciary Committee.
  • House – The House will be in recess but will meet in pro forma session. The House could be called back into session if an agreement is reached on a coronavirus response bill.
