  • Senate – The Senate voted 52-47 but fell short of the 60 votes needed to invoke cloture on the Republican “skinny” coronavirus response package. The Senate confirmed five nominees to serve as U.S. District Court Judges. 
  • House – The House met in pro forma session. 

Next Week in Congress

  • Senate – The Senate will continue its consideration of judicial nominations, with eight on its schedule. Senate, House, and Administration leaders are expected to continue negotiations on a Continuing Resolution (CR) to extend government funding beyond the current September 30 expiration date. 
  • House – The House is scheduled to vote on the Equity and Inclusion Enforcement Act (H.R. 2574), the Strength in Diversity Act (H.R. 2639), and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (H.R. 2694). The House may also consider the Ensuring Children and Child Care Workers Are Safe Act (H.R. 7909) and the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Coronavirus Relief Act. (H.R. 8162).
