This Week in Congress

  • Senate – The Senate was in recess and met in pro forma session.
  • House – The House was in recess and met in pro forma session. The House Appropriations Committee completed its markups of Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 funding bills.

Next Week in Congress

  • Senate – The Senate will continue its consideration of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for FY2021 (S. 4049). The Senate is expected to vote on the nomination of Russell Vought to be Director of the Office of Management and Budget.
  • House – The House is scheduled to vote on its version of the NDAA for FY2021 (H.R. 6395) and a “minibus” package of State & Foreign Operations, Military Construction & Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, and Interior & Environment appropriations bills (H.R. 7608). The House is also expected to vote on Great American Outdoors Act (H.R. 1957), the National Origin-Based Antidiscrimination for Nonimmigrants Act (H.R. 2214), the Access to Counsel Act (H.R. 5581), the Child Care for Economic Recovery Act (H.R.7327), and the Child Care Is Essential Act (H.R. 7027).
