This Week in Congress

  • Senate – The Senate was in recess and met in pro forma session.
  • House – The House was in recess and met in pro forma session. The House passed the Protecting Nonprofits from Catastrophic Cash Flow Strain Act (S. 4209), which modifies a provision of the CARES Act regarding emergency unemployment relief for governmental entities and nonprofit organizations. The bill will now go to the President for his signature. The House Appropriations Committee held markups of Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 funding bills in all twelve of its subcommittees and began markups at the full committee level.

Next Week in Congress

  • Senate – The Senate will be in recess but will meet in pro forma session.
  • House – The House will be in recess but will meet in pro forma session. House committees will continue to hold hearings and markups. The House Appropriations Committee will continue to hold markups of FY2021 funding bills and is expected to complete them next week.
