This Week in Congress

  • House – Congress passed an $8.3 billion emergency funding package to help combat the coronavirus (H.R. 6074), which President Trump signed into law. The House also passed H.R. 1140, “The Rights for Transportation Security Officers Act.” H.R. 5932, “The Ensuring Chinese Debt Transparency Act,” and H.R. 5003, “The Fair Debt Collection Practices for Servicemembers Act.”
  • Senate – The Senate began consideration of  S. 2657, “The American Energy Innovation Act.” 

Next Week in Congress

  • House – The House is expected to vote on S.J. Res. 68, a resolution direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress. The House may also vote on legislation to extend expiring provisions of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act and on legislation to undo President Trump’s travel ban on people from mostly Muslim countries. 
  • Senate – The Senate will continue consideration of  S. 2657, “The American Energy Innovation Act.”
