  • **Following one-minute speeches, the House is expected to recess until approximately 2:45 p.m. At that time, the House will reconvene to consider a bill listed for consideration under suspension of the Rules.  Members are advised that following suspension debate, the House will resume consideration of amendments to H.R. 2740 – Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, Defense, State, and Foreign Operations, and Energy and Water Dvelopment Appropriations Act, 2020, beginning with Division C (Defense).  Members should be prepared to offer their amendment at the appropriate time tomorrow. 
  • **Members are advised that the House will continue consideration of amendments to H.R. 2740 after last votes. ​​Any recorded votes requested will be postponed.

Today

  • On Tuesday, following Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business until 11:30am. Following morning business, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #222, Sean Cairncross, of Minnesota, to be Chief Executive Officer, Millennium Challenge Corporation. At 12:00 Noon, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Cairncross nomination.
  • The Senate will recess from 12:30pm until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.
  • If cloture is invoked on the Cairncross nomination, at 2:15pm the Senate will vote on 1) confirmation of the nomination, and the motion to invoke cloture on the 2) Kacsmaryk, 3) Winsor, 4) Cain, and 5) Guidry nominations.
