The House is expected to consider four bills under suspension of the rules and also consider a bill (HR 1301) providing full-year appropriations for the Defense Department for Fiscal 2017. The Senate will resume consideration of H.J.Res.58, providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Department of Education relating to teacher preparation issues.

  • A motion was entered to close further debate on the nomination, and, in accordance with the provisions of rule XXII of the Standing Rules of the Senate, a vote on cloture will occur on Thursday, March 9, 2017.
