  • The Senate met in pro forma session.

Today:

  • On Tuesday, following any Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business until 5:00pm. At 5:00pm, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider the nomination of Executive Calendar #305, Wilhelmina Marie Wright, of Minnesota, to be United States District Judge for the District of Minnesota. There will be 30 minutes of debate equally divided followed by a roll call vote on confirmation of the nomination.
  • During today’s session Senator McConnell moved to proceed to Calendar #300, H.R.4038, American SAFE Act of 2015, and filed cloture on the motion. By consent, the cloture vote will occur at 2:30pm on Wednesday, January 20, and if cloture is invoked then the time will be counted as if it had been invoked at 6:00pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.
