  • Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act: The House passed H.R. 3504, to amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit a health care practitioner from failing to exercise the proper degree of care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or attempted abortion, by a yea-and-nay vote of 248 yeas to 177 nays with one answering ”present”, Roll No. 506.
    H. Res. 421, the rule providing for consideration of the bills (H.R. 3134) to provide for a moratorium on Federal funding to Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc. and (H.R. 3504) to amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit a health care practitioner from failing to exercise the proper degree of care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or attempted abortion, was agreed to yesterday, September 17th.
  • Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2015: The House passed H.R. 3134, to provide for a moratorium on Federal funding to Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc., by a recorded vote of 241 ayes to 187 noes with one answering ”present”, Roll No. 505.
    Reject the Esty motion to recommit the bill the bill to the Committee on Energy and Commerce with instructions to report the same back to the House forthwith with an amendment, by a yea-and-nay vote of 183 yeas to 245 nays, Roll No. 504.

    • Pursuant to the Rule, the amendment printed in H. Rept. 114-262 shall be considered as adopted.
  • H.   • On Thursday, Senator McConnell moved to proceed to H.R.36, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, and filed cloture on the motion. Unless an agreement can be reached, the cloture vote would occur 1 hour after the Senate convenes on Tuesday, September 22.
