Today’s Daily Update

Appropriators unveiled a $1.1 trillion spending package (H.R. 83) on Tuesday providing fresh funding for all government, except the Department of Homeland Security package, and balancing contentious policy riders. The legislation includes new policy and spending directives for 11 of the 12 annual appropriations measures and a continuing resolution for DHS through Feb. 27, 2015.

House

    • To release the city of St. Clair, Missouri from all restrictions related to the St. Clair Regional Airport (S. 2759)

    • Clay Hunt Suicide Prevention for American Veterans Act (H.R. 5059)
  • The House passed the “California Emergency Drought Relief Act of 2014” (H.R. 5871) to provide short-term water supplies to drought-stricken California, by a vote of 230 – 182.

Today:

  • On Wednesday, the House will meet at 10:00 a.m. for morning hour and 12:00 p.m. for legislative business. First votes expected: 2:00-3:00 p.m. Last votes expected: 4:00-5:00 p.m.
