The Senate failed to pass Keystone XL legislation by one vote.

House

 

Yesterday:

  • The House passed the “EPA Science Advisory Board Reform Act” (H.R. 1422) to amend the Environmental Research, Development, and Demonstration Authorization Act of 1978 to provide for Scientific Advisory Board member qualifications and public participation, by a vote of 229-191.

Today:

  • The House will consider 5 bills under suspension of the rules, including the “STELA Reauthorization Act of 2014” (H.R. 5728). The House will also consider the “Secret Science Reform Act of 2014” (H.R. 4012) under a structured rule.

 

Senate

 

Yesterday:

  • The Senate failed to reach 60 votes to pass S. 2280 to approve the Keystone XL Pipeline, with a final vote of 59 – 41.
  • The Senate rejected the motion to close further debate on the motion to proceed to consideration of the USA Freedom Act (S. 2685) by a vote of 58 – 42.

Today:

  • The Senate will begin consideration of 5 judicial nominations.
