Today’s Daily Update

The Senate will vote on the “Highway and Transportation Funding Act” (H.R. 5021).

House

 

Yesterday:

  • The House passed H.R. 4156 to allow airlines and ticket sellers to advertise the base price of airfare separately from the full price that includes taxes and fees; H.R. 3696 to expand DHS efforts to prevent cybersecurity attacks by developing voluntary standards and codifying an executive policy directive that identified critical infrastructure sectors requiring protection; and H.R. 4250 to create an expedited Food and Drug Administration review process for the active ingredients in nonprescription sunscreens.

Today:

  • The House will meet at 10:00 a.m. for morning hour and 12:00 p.m. for legislative business; first votes are expected between 1:30 – 2:15 p.m., and last votes are expected between 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
  • The House will vote on H.R. 3896, to amend the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act to provide a definition of recreational vessel; the “SAFE Act Confidentiality and Privilege Enhancement Act” (H.R. 4626); the “Examination and Supervisory Privilege Parity Act of 2014 (H.R. 5062); the “Ensuring Patient Access and Effective Drug Enforcement Act of 2014” (H.R. 4709); the “21st Century Endangered Species Transparency Act (H.R. 4315); and H.R. 4809, to reauthorize the Defense Production Act, to improve the Defense Production Act Committee, and for other purposes.

 

Senate

 

Yesterday:

  • The Senate resumed consideration of the “Bring Jobs Home Act” (S. 2569) to provide an incentive for businesses to bring jobs back to America and began consideration of the motion to proceed to consideration of the “Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act” (S. 2648) making emergency supplemental appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2014.

Today:

  • The Senate will begin consideration of the “Highway and Transportation Funding Act” (H.R. 5021).
  • 5 roll call votes are expected in relation to the Wyden, Carper-Corker-Boxer, Lee, and Toomey amendments and on passage of H.R.5021, as amended, if amended.
