  • The House passed the Federal Employee Retroactive Pay Fairness Act, H.R. 3223, to provide for the compensation of furloughed Federal employees, by a yea-and-nay vote of 407 yeas with none voting ”nay”, Roll No. 525.
  • The House agreed to suspend the rules and agree to the Expressing the sense of Congress regarding the need for the continued availability of religious services to members of the Armed Forces, H. Con. Res. 58, to express the sense of Congress regarding the need for the continued availability of religious services to members of the Armed Forces and their families during a lapse in appropriations, by a \2/3\ yea-and-nay vote of 400 yeas to 1 nay, Roll No. 526.

  • The House is expected to consider the Food and Drug Safety Act, 2014, H.J.Res. 77 (Closed Rule, 40 Minutes of Debate) (Sponsored by Rep. Robert Aderholt / Appropriations Committee).

 

Senate

Saturday:

  • A unanimous-consent agreement was reached providing that at 5:00 p.m. today, the Senate will begin consideration of the nominations of Colin Stirling Bruce, of Illinois, to be United States District Judge for the Central District of Illinois, and Sara Lee Ellis, of Illinois, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois, as provided for under the order of Friday, September 27, 2013.
  • A unanimous-consent-time agreement was reached providing that, at an unspecified time, the Senate will begin consideration of the nominations of Andrea R. Wood, of Illinois, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois, and Madeline Hughes Haikala, of Alabama, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama.

Today:

  • The Senate is expected to consider the nominations of Colin Stirling Bruce to be United States District Judge for the Central District of Illinois, and Sara Lee Ellis to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.
