Yesterday:

  • The House agreed to suspend the rules and pass the following measures: Reverse Mortgage Stabilization Act of 2013: H.R. 2167, to authorize the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to establish additional requirements to improve the fiscal safety and soundness of the home equity conversion mortgage insurance program; Business Risk Mitigation and Price Stabilization Act of 2013: H.R. 634, amended, to provide end user exemptions from certain provisions of the Commodity Exchange Act and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, by a yea-and-nay vote of 411 yeas to 12 nays, Roll No. 215; Swap Data Repository and Clearinghouse Indemnification Correction Act of 2013: H.R. 742, to amend the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and the Commodity Exchange Act to repeal the indemnification requirements for regulatory authorities to obtain access to swap data required to be provided by swaps entities under such Acts, by a yea-and-nay vote of 420 yeas to 2 nays, Roll No. 216; and Public Power Risk Management Act of 2013: H.R. 1038, to provide equal treatment for utility special entities using utility operations-related swaps, by a yea-and-nay vote of 423 yeas with none voting ”nay”, Roll No. 219.
  • Swap Jurisdiction Certainty Act: The House passed H.R. 1256, to direct the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to jointly adopt rules setting forth the application to cross-border swaps transactions of certain provisions relating to swaps that were enacted as part of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, by a recorded vote of 301 ayes to 124 noes, Roll No. 218.
  • National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014: The House began consideration of H.R. 1960, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2014 for military activities of the Department of Defense and for military construction and to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year. Consideration is expected to resume tomorrow, June 13th

Today:

  • The House will continue consideration of H.R. 1960 – National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014 (Structured Rule) (Sponsored by Rep. Buck McKeon / Armed Services Committee). 172 Amendments have been submitted.

 

Senate

Yesterday:

  • Senate continued consideration of S. 744, to provide for comprehensive immigration reform, taking action on the following amendments proposed thereto:
  • Pending amendments: Leahy/Hatch Amendment No. 1183, to encourage and facilitate international participation in the performing arts. Grassley/Blunt Amendment No. 1195, to prohibit the granting of registered provisional immigrant status until the Secretary has maintained effective control of the borders for 6 months.
