Today’s Daily Update



  • Under suspension of the rules, the House approved the “New York City Natural Gas Supply Enhancement Act” (H.R. 2606) and a bill to amend the Recovery Act of 2009 to consolidate certain CBO reporting requirements (H.R. 6570).


  • The House will begin consideration of the “Russia and Moldova Jackson-Vanik Repeal and Sergi Magnitsky Rule of Law Accountability Act of 2012” (H.R. 6156), which would repeal trade restrictions and effectively extend permanent normal trade relations to Russia.




  • The Senate voted against cloture on the “Cybersecurity Act of 2012” (S. 3414). The Senate also approved the “Taking Essential Steps for Testing Act of 2012” (H.R. 6118) by unanimous consent and an extension of the SAFEWEB Act (H.R. 6131) by voice vote.


  • The Senate will continue consideration of the “Sportsmen’s Act of 2012” (S. 3525).
