This Week in Congress

  • House – The House passed four cybersecurity bills: the “Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Production Act” (H.R. 3523); the “Federal Information Security Act of 2012” (H.R. 4257); the “Cybersecurity Enhancement Act of 2011” (H.R. 2096); and the “Federal Information Security Act of 2012” (H.R. 4257). The House also approved a student loan “Interest Rate Reduction Act” (H.R. 4628), the “Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA) Act of 2012” (H.R. 2146), and the “Small Business Credit Availability Act” (H.R. 3336). In addition, the House approved a motion to go to conference on the “Surface Transportation Extension Act of 2012” (H.R. 4348).

 

  • Senate – The Senate approved the “21st Century Postal Service Act of 2012” (S. 1789) and the “Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act” (S. 1925).

  • House – The House is in recess until May 7, 2012.
