Shane E. Doucet
Shane Doucet is a Principal at Williams & Jensen. He previously worked for Congressman Chris John (D-LA) who is a former Chairman of the Blue Dog Democrats. As a Legislative Assistant to Representative John, a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, he worked on education, energy, health, judicial, foreign affairs, immigration and labor issues. Additionally, he spent time as a legislative aide for State Senator Phil Short in Louisiana.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Doucet represented clients over the last decade in the areas of healthcare, law enforcement, public pensions, automotive, energy, conservation and high-tech. He has advised foreign governments on trade matters and military assistance before the U.S. Government. He also led efforts dealing with high-profile CFIUS matters before Congress and the administration. Additionally, he lobbied on behalf of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for more than two years on issues such as health care reform, legal reform, energy, tax and environmental regulations.
Mr. Doucet has moderated panels comprised of top union, business and trade association representatives on the impact of health reform and has been a featured speaker for over 250 CFOs on health and wellness provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
